The Small Boat Fleet is available to all members in good standing upon certification of basic boat handling knowledge by a club certifier and the payment in advance of usage fees, where applicable. Boats are available to certified members on an unlimited first come, first served reservation basis. Members are responsible for any damage to the boats other than normal wear and tear.
The Laser is an exciting single person boat on the dinghy platform.
The Club FJ is a 14 foot, two person dingy which uses a spinnaker.
Two Capri 22’ keel boats - Wayne's World and Star World, are two nearly identical boats that are responsive and can be sailed by two, however can accommodate six people.
The Santana 22 named Europa is a classic design with a full keel, a comfortable cabin and is fully rigged with a spinnaker.
The Sabot is the work horse of the Jr. Program, this 8’ boat is actively sailed and raced by Children and Adults. Sabots available by only by special arrangement, contact SmallBoatFleet@smwyc.org.
Adult Sailing Class - Level I is held regularly for members only. The cost is $500 per student for private lessons, $300 ea. for semi private (2 students) and $200 each for families living together minimum/maximum of 3 students per class. The fee for first time certification is $75. Certification is by appointment only. Appointments can be arranged by emailing smallboatfleet@smwyc.org . Once certification has been obtained, the “Pass” must be paid in advance. A Full Season Pass is $240, which is prorated for the first year only. Flag Members your seasonal pass fee is included in the monthly dues. Non-Flag members that want that take advantage of the Small Boat Fleet program are encouraged to change their membership level to flag to reduce the administrative burden on the office staff.
Adult Sailing Class - Level II is held regularly for members only at the cost of $165. You must first pass either Adult Sailing Class - Level I or Certification before you can qualify to enroll in this class.
Adult Laser and FJ Lessons are held regularly for members only at the cost of $80.

The Club FJ, Laser, the Santana 22 and the Capri 22's and Sabots are primarily intended for use by our members who have been certified in their use. In addition, they all may be used in approved races. The Club FJ, Sabot and Laser are used in the junior program and their use may be limited when the boats are in use by the juniors. Boats may be used for advanced racing and cruising instruction, in the Junior program and/or for Adult Sailing Instruction.
